Interreg Green Hydra project

The Croatian Hydrocarbon Agency is a partner in the European project Green Hydra - Improving policies for engaging SMEs in the green hydrogen ecosystem, which is implemented within the framework of the Interreg Europe program.

The project lead partner is the Municipality of Ravenna. The project partnership includes 11 partners from the public and private sectors as well as the scientific community.

The total project value is EUR 2.254.967 and the EU co-funded amount is EUR 1.557.318,50. The project implementation period is from April 2024 until June 2028.

The main goal of the project is to develop new or improve existing policies (in 10 EU regions) that encourage the inclusion of small and medium-sized enterprises in local, regional and national green hydrogen economies.

Small and medium-sized enterprises still play a minor role in the green hydrogen ecosystem. However, the rapid development of green hydrogen technologies, their increasing availability and the ambitions of countries to create a green economy based on hydrogen, present new opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises to enter the green hydrogen market. Moreover, small and medium-sized enterprises can become an important factor in achieving ambitious European goals related to the reduction of CO2 emissions and the achievement of climate neutrality by 2050, with green hydrogen playing an important role.
