Croatian Hydrocarbon Agency at the "Energy Forum 2025: Shaping a Secure and Sustainable Energetic Future in Central and South-East Europe", a conference organised by the Gnosis Institute1, OCECCD and the Climate Policy Institute

The aim of the one-day conference was to provide an overview of how the new efforts to diversify energy supplies and plan new supply routes will affect Central and South Eastern Europe, what new international co-operations are outlined and to what extent they will promote further integration and closer co-operation in this region. The conference explored the region's prospects in four thematic panels and reported on the opportunities for the region in the face of new global and regional challenges. The implementation of the European Green Deal and the transition to clean energy as well as the expected role of different technologies and solutions in the region were the topics of this year's forum.

Lidija Božić was a panellist at Helping hands of your neighbour. Building regional connectivity in energy supply chains and trade is essential to create functioning networks and optimise the use of the energy produced. Cross-border cooperation and the strengthening of good neighbourly relations in energy policy can contribute to intergovernmental trust and bring mutual benefits to the countries concerned. Companies and regulators that implement such co-operation are key to ensuring their viability.
Ljiljana Zornjak takes part in the panel discussion Sustainable and realistic: the future of the green transition. While there is still debate about how realistic it is to create a more environmentally sustainable energy system, technological development is contributing to the emergence of new energy resources which, together with the modernisation of 'old solutions', offer a growing number of competitive and complementary solutions to tackle this complex challenge.
